The Mirage is Mitsubishi’s compact hatchback, and for 2021, it has received a refreshed exterior style with a more modern look up front and in the back. Besides this outward refresh, the Mirage will carry over to the 2022 model year without any significant changes. Here’s a look at what you can expect from the 2022 Mitsubishi Mirage.

Engine

The small Mirage gets its power from a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine that puts out 76 horsepower. This is plenty for the compact hatchback, which will easily zip around city streets. The base Mirage has a five-speed manual transmission, but you can opt for the CVT, which comes standard with the rest of the trims. Front-wheel drive comes standard.

The Cabin

Inside, there’s room for five in the Mirage. The front seat have plenty of cushioning and lots of legroom, and the cargo area is surprisingly spacious, with 17 cubic feet of storage with the rear seats up. This can open up to 47 cubic feet if you fold the seats down. Heated front seats come in the top-level SE, and standard tech features in the cabin include a 7-inch touch screen, a four-speaker stereo, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Safety Features

Every 2022 Mirage will come with a rearview camera, a full suite of air bags, forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, and a pedestrian detection system. Stepping up to the top-level SE will get you a lane-departure warning system and automatic high beam headlights.

The 2022 Mitsubishi Mirage is compact, easy to drive, and offers the tech and safety features you need.
