There’s no better way to close out the summer than by enjoying live music. If you agree with this sentiment, the 4th Annual Riverfront Jazz Festival is an event not to be missed. It takes place over the entire weekend of September 3rd through the 5th, in three separate venues.

Three Music Venues

Opening night on Friday, September 3rd, begins at 6:30 p.m. with the pre-show: the Jeep Jazz Procession performed by “The Tribe Jeep Club,” which includes 65 Jeeps. Afterward, the music performances begin in two different locations: the Convention Center Arena in downtown Dallas and the Naomi Bruton Theatre. The third venue is at the Office of Cultural Affairs, which will feature a lineup of promising young artists.

The Performers

The Jazz Festival features over 26 performers and groups, including well-known celebrities and up-and-coming acts. On Friday, the Dallas Hot Band opens for Erykah Badu. Saturday’s performers at the arena include David Sanborn and Millie Jackson. Head over to the Bruton Theatre to enjoy a salute to six great women of jazz and wrap up the night with Pete Escovedo. Peabo Bryson performs on Sunday, along with Dwele and the SOS Band.

How to Get Tickets

Ticket options include a one-day or three-day option, both general admission and VIP. Special group deals, which include reserved tables and other perks, are also available. Tickets may be purchased through Ticketmaster or at the box office.
